Strawberry Honeybun Cake Cream

 Ingredients

For the Cake:

1 box strawberry cake mix

½ cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 cup sour cream

1 cup strawberry preserves or jam

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

¼ cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2–3 tbsp milk or cream

2 tbsp strawberry jam or preserves

A few drops of red or pink food coloring (optional)

 Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish or a bundt pan.

2. Make the Filling:
In a small bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

3. Mix the Cake Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, combine strawberry cake mix, eggs, oil, sour cream, vanilla, and strawberry preserves. Mix until well combined.

4. Layer the Cake:
Pour half of the strawberry batter into the prepared pan. Gently spoon the cream cheese filling evenly over the top. Add the remaining cake batter on top and spread gently to cover.

5. Bake:
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15–20 minutes.

6. Make the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and strawberry jam. Adjust consistency if needed.

7. Glaze and Serve:
Drizzle the glaze over the warm or cooled cake. Slice and serve!
