Ingredients
• 1 can refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade)
• 1 lb breakfast sausage
• 3 tablespoons butter
• 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
• 2 cups whole milk
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 4 large eggs
• 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet or pizza pan and unroll the pizza dough. Press it out to form a crust and bake for 8 minutes.
In a skillet, brown the breakfast sausage. Drain excess grease and set sausage aside.
In the same skillet, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking until thick and smooth.
Season the gravy with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir the cooked sausage back into the gravy and remove from heat.
Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the par-baked crust.
Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
Crack the eggs directly over the pizza or scramble them lightly beforehand—your choice.
Return the pizza to the oven and bake 10–12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the eggs are cooked to your liking.
Sprinkle with green onions and serve hot for a hearty Southern breakfast pizza.
