Here is my simple Vanilla Pound CakeΒ
Ingredients:
β’ 3 cups Swans Down cake flour
β’ 3 cups sugar
β’ 6 large eggs
β’ 1 cup softened unsalted butter
β’ 1/2 cup shortening (or more butter)
β’ 3/4 cup sour cream
β’ 2 tsp vanilla extract
β’ 1 tsp baking powder (optional)
β’ 1/2 tsp salt
Vanilla Glaze:
β’ 2 cups powdered sugar
β’ 3β4 tbsp water
β’ 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions:
β Preheat oven to 325Β°F. Grease and flour your Bundt pan.
β Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until fluffy.
β Add eggs one at a time.
β Whisk cake flour, baking powder, and salt together.
β Add dry ingredients to the wet in 3 parts.
β Mix in sour cream, then vanilla.
β Batter will be thick β thatβs correct for pound cake.
β Bake 1 hourβ1 hour 15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
β Cool 10 minutes, flip out, and let it finish cooling.
Glaze:
Mix powdered sugar, water, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle over the cooled cake.
