Ingredients
Dough:
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup warm milk
1 egg
¼ cup melted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
Cream Filling:
1 cup milk
2 egg yolks
¼ cup sugar
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp butter
For Frying & Coating:
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Granulated sugar (for coating)
Instructions
1. Make the Dough
In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
Add warm milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
Knead until soft and elastic (about 8–10 minutes).
Cover and let rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
2. Prepare the Cream Filling
Heat the milk in a saucepan (do not boil).
In a bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch.
Slowly add hot milk while whisking.
Return to heat and cook until thick.
Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla.
Cover with plastic wrap touching the surface and let cool.
3. Shape & Fry
Roll out the dough (about 1.5 cm thick).
Cut into circles.
Let rest for 20 minutes.
Fry in medium-hot oil until golden on both sides.
Drain on paper towels.
4. Fill & Finish
Roll donuts in sugar while warm.
Use a piping bag to fill with cream from the side.
