– 1 cup butter, softened
– 1/2 cup powdered sugar

– 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

– 1 cup finely chopped pecans

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
3. Gradually add the flour to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
4. Stir in the finely chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
5. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on an ungreased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
6. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden but the tops remain pale.
7. Remove cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
8. While still warm, roll each cookie in powdered sugar until fully coated.
9. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack and let them cool completely, then dust again with powdered sugar for a snowy finish.
