🧈 Ingredients

For the crust:

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup cold unsalted butter (cut into cubes)

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp sugar

6–8 tbsp ice water

For the filling:

6–7 medium apples (Granny Smith or any firm apples)

¾ cup sugar

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp nutmeg

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp butter (small pieces)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the crust:

In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.

Add cold butter and rub it in until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.

Add ice water gradually and mix until the dough comes together.

Divide into 2 discs, wrap, and chill for 30 minutes.

2️⃣ Prepare the filling:

Peel and slice the apples.

Mix with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla.

3️⃣ Assemble:

Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).

Roll out one dough disc and place in a pie dish.

Add apple filling and dot with butter pieces.

Roll out second dough and cover the pie (seal edges and cut small slits on top).

4️⃣ Bake:

Bake for 45–55 minutes until golden brown.

Let cool before slicing.
