Ingredients:

For the Onion Rings:

  • 1 large onion, sliced into ½-inch rings

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup cornstarch

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  • Toss the onion rings in the flour mixture, coating evenly. Shake off excess.

2. Heat the Oil:

  • Fill a deep skillet or pot with about 2 inches of oil. Heat over medium-high until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

3. Fry to Crispy Perfection:

  • Working in batches, fry onion rings for 2–3 minutes per side until deep golden brown.

  • Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

4. Make the Aioli:

  • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, smoked paprika, lemon juice, garlic powder, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.

5. Serve & Enjoy:

  • Serve onion rings immediately with the smoky aioli for dipping.
