Prepare the Shrimp:
While the pasta is boiling, rinse and pat the shrimp dry.
Cook the Shrimp:
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until they start to turn pink and begin to curl, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the Garlic:
Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the shrimp. Continue cooking for 5-7 minutes, adding the olive oil as the shrimp finishes cooking. Stir until the shrimp are fully pink and curled.
Combine Pasta and Shrimp:
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp. Add Italian seasoning, ground pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt to taste.
Add Pasta Water:
Gradually add the reserved pasta water to the skillet, starting with 1/4 cup and adding more as needed until the pasta is coated but not too wet. Toss everything in the skillet until evenly combined and heated through.
Tips:
Add a handful of spinach or cherry tomatoes for a fresh twist.
Swap lemon for white wine to make it restaurant-style.
Use linguine or angel hair for a lighter texture.
