This Slow Cooker 2-Ingredient Beer Bread is incredibly easy, hearty, and flavorful. Made with just self-rising flour and beer, this no-yeast bread bakes perfectly in the crockpot with a soft interior and rustic crust. It’s the perfect side for soups, stews, and chili—or simply served warm with butter and honey.
Ingredients
3 cups self-rising flour
1 (12 oz) can regular beer (not light)
Optional Add-Ins
1 tablespoon sugar (for a slightly sweeter loaf)
½–1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar works great)
Instructions
Prepare the Slow Cooker
Line the slow cooker with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
Mix the Dough
In a large bowl, stir together the self-rising flour and beer until just combined. Do not overmix—some lumps are perfectly fine.
Add to Slow Cooker
Transfer the dough to the prepared slow cooker and smooth the top with a spatula.
Cook
Place a paper towel under the lid to catch condensation. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 to 2½ hours, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Optional Crisp Finish
For a crustier top, transfer the loaf to a baking sheet and place under the broiler for 2–3 minutes after cooking.
Cool & Slice
Let the bread cool for about 15 minutes before slicing.
