Ingredients

For the meatballs:

500g (1 lb) ground beef (or half beef, half pork)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup milk

1 small onion (finely grated or very finely chopped)

1 egg

2 tbsp chopped parsley

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional but traditional)

1 tbsp butter or oil (for frying)

For the creamy sauce:

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp flour

2 cups beef broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 tbsp soy sauce

Salt & pepper to taste

For serving:

300–400g pasta (penne or egg noodles)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the meatballs

Mix breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit 5 minutes.

Add ground meat, onion, egg, parsley, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

Mix gently (don’t overmix).

Shape into small balls.

2️⃣ Cook the meatballs

Heat butter/oil in a pan over medium heat.

Brown meatballs on all sides until cooked through (8–10 minutes).

Remove and set aside.

3️⃣ Make the sauce

In the same pan, melt butter.

Add flour and whisk for 1–2 minutes.

Slowly pour in beef broth while whisking.

Add cream and soy sauce.

Simmer until thick and creamy.

4️⃣ Combine

Return meatballs to the sauce.

Let simmer 5–7 minutes.

5️⃣ Serve

Cook pasta separately.

Mix with sauce and meatballs or bake everything together at 180°C (350°F) for 15–20 minutes for a dish like in the picture
