Ingredients

• 6 slices thick bread (Texas toast or brioche)

• 3 large eggs

• ¾ cup milk or half-and-half

• 1 tbsp sugar

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• ½ tsp cinnamon

• Pinch of salt

• Butter for skillet

• Warm maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

 

1. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.

2. Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, coating both sides well.

3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.

4. Cook bread 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and fluffy.

5. Stack slightly overlapping on the plate.

6. Drizzle generously with warm syrup so it pools around the edges.
