Here is my simple Vanilla Pound Cake 

Ingredients:
• 3 cups Swans Down cake flour
• 3 cups sugar
• 6 large eggs
• 1 cup softened unsalted butter
• 1/2 cup shortening (or more butter)
• 3/4 cup sour cream
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 tsp baking powder (optional)
• 1/2 tsp salt

Vanilla Glaze:
• 2 cups powdered sugar
• 3–4 tbsp water
• 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions:
– Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease and flour your Bundt pan.
– Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until fluffy.
– Add eggs one at a time.
– Whisk cake flour, baking powder, and salt together.
– Add dry ingredients to the wet in 3 parts.
– Mix in sour cream, then vanilla.
– Batter will be thick — that’s correct for pound cake.
– Bake 1 hour–1 hour 15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
– Cool 10 minutes, flip out, and let it finish cooling.

Glaze:
Mix powdered sugar, water, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle over the cooled cake.
