Chili Mac – a comforting and hearty meal you’ll crave!
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
1 packet chili seasoning mix
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
3 cups elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup sour cream (optional for garnish)
Directions:
Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Sauté the Aromatics:
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the onion is soft and translucent.
Add the Beans and Tomatoes:
Stir in the kidney beans, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes. Add the chili seasoning mix, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine, then bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chili thickens.
Mix in the Pasta:
Add the cooked elbow macaroni to the chili mixture, stirring to combine everything evenly. Let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Top with Cheese:
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the chili mac. Cover and let it cook for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Serve your Chili Mac hot, topped with a dollop of sour cream if desired. Enjoy this cheesy, flavorful, and comforting meal!
